James has over forty years’ relevant tax, investing, finance and audit experience. Over the years he has built up strong relationships with the Revenue and the Banking and Financial sectors. His particular area of interest is succession planning.

James’ experience spans a range of accountancy services, including the formulation of tax structures for clients who wish to avail of various tax reliefs such as the efficient use of losses, group structures, EIIS and Seed Capital funding, in addition to advising on high income earning reliefs and restrictions. He also has a wealth of experience dealing with all personal and capital taxes, including capital acquisition tax and capital gains tax. In particular, he is involved in estate planning for high net worth individuals maximising the tax reliefs available for passing on wealth to the next generation.

A maths graduate from UCC, James founded the accountancy practice in 1978 and has overseen its growth over the last forty years. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1977 from Craig Gardner’s, Cork (now part of Pricewaterhouse Coopers). In addition, James is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and is a licenced insolvency practitioner.
