Office Administrator

James Byrne & Company Accountants Limited (JBCO) is a chartered accountancy practice based in Mallow and Blackpool, Cork offering a range of accounting and taxation services, for SME business and high net worth individuals. Due to continued growth, JBCO is seeking an ambitious and experienced administrator to join our progressive professional team. The position will be located at our Mallow office.

The successful candidates will become a key member of our professional team. The role will include: planning and improving workflow management, managing billing and collections, leading the administrative team in the day to day running of a modern office, assistance in regulatory compliance, managing specific projects, managing the human resource function of the business.

The successful candidate should have a third level or an equivalent qualification and have at a minimum five years’ experience in a similar role. The role requires having good numerical skills, confident with IT, willingness to work on own initiative or as part of a team and have good communication skills.

Assistant Accountant / Part Qualified Accountant

Due to continued growth, JBCO is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our personal accounts teams for an immediate start in our Mallow office.

The role will include the preparation of financial accounts and tax services for sole traders, companies and partnerships, including but not limited to VAT returns, payroll, annual accounts and tax returns, for a specified portfolio of clients.

This position would suit an assistant accountant, an accounting technician or a part qualified accountant. A good knowledge of accounts preparation and payroll computerised packages required.

The role requires having good numerical skills, confident with IT, willingness to work on own initiative or as part of a team and have good communication skills. It would be a requirement that the candidates have two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with knowledge of farming clients.

Trainee Accountant Position

Due to continued growth, James Byrne & Company Accountants Limited is seeking an enthusiastic trainee accountant for an immediate start in our Mallow office.

Take the first step into a career in accountancy.

The successful candidate will join JBCO’s growing team of providing a full suite of financial services.

The role will be preliminary focused towards accounting compliance, auditing and tax services. This allows candidates gain valuable experience in accounting, auditing and taxation services. The successful candidate will work in a professional team providing accounting services to a varied client portfolio in conjunction with their academic training program. This will give the successful candidate the essential building blocks to become an excellent finance professional, as they will learn from the ground up.

A knowledge of accounting and payroll packages would be useful, however not necessary as all training will be completed on site. As a valued member of our team, there would be opportunities to grow, progress and manage your own portfolio of clients.

The role requires enthusiasm, an eagerness to learn and good communication skills. Candidates should have a degree or equivalent qualification, preferably but not necessarily in business, accounting, finance, arts or law, have a good academic record and a willingness to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
