Due to continued growth, James Byrne & Company is seeking to recruit a part qualified accountant in our Mallow Office.  You will have the opportunity to be part of the audit/accounts team and supporting audit and tax preparation for a diverse portfolio of clients.

  • Assist in maintaining and developing client relationships
  • Support the design and implementation of audit plans 
  • Ensure completion of assignments within appropriate budget and timeframe
  • Take responsibility for a large and varied portfolio of clients
  • Preparation of accounts to trial balance stage.
  • Providing timely and accurate information to clients
  • Working towards CPA/ACA/ACCA qualification
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 year experience in an Irish practice
  • Track record in audit & accounts preparation
  • Highly motivated with strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical assessment
  • Work with colleagues, sharing workloads in order to meet deadlines
  • Commercial awareness

Senior Practice Accountant

Due to continued growth, James Byrne & Company is seeking to recruit an energetic senior accountant to join our multi -disciplinary and dynamic team in our Blackpool office. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years practice accounting experience.  Hybrid working arrangements are available together with a competitive salary package.

  • Preparing audit exempt accounts, sole traders & partnership accounts to partner review stage
  • Prepare and file Corporation Tax and Income Tac returns with Revenue
  • Managing revenue online/offline transactions
  • Provide a range of taxation and business advice to clients
  • Advisory work including due diligence, valuation and business plans
  • Assist with training of junior staff 
  • CRO Compliance
  • Ideally the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years post qualifying public practice accounting experience.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients
  • Extremely organised and self starter
  • Strong technical experience in accounting and auditing principles

Trainee Accountant Position

  • Your role will be initially focused towards accounting compliance, auditing and tax services expanding into our other client service areas as your training progresses;

  • You will work closely with our cloud based bookkeeping team in the preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow projections, finance applications, preparing management reports for board meetings and liaising directly with clients on their day-to-day financial requirements;

  • The role requires enthusiasm, an eagerness to learn and excellent communication skills;
  • Candidates should have a degree or equivalent qualification, preferably but not necessarily in business, accounting, finance or law, have a good academic record and a willingness to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills;

Assistant Accountant / Part Qualified Accountant

Due to continued growth, JBCO is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our personal accounts teams for an immediate start in our Mallow office.

The role will include the preparation of financial accounts and tax services for sole traders, companies and partnerships, including but not limited to VAT returns, payroll, annual accounts and tax returns, for a specified portfolio of clients.

This position would suit an assistant accountant, an accounting technician or a part qualified accountant. A good knowledge of accounts preparation and payroll computerised packages required.

The role requires having good numerical skills, confident with IT, willingness to work on own initiative or as part of a team and have good communication skills. It would be a requirement that the candidates have two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with knowledge of farming clients.
